AFTERCARE
You are now in the healing stage of your tattoo process. The first 7-10 days are the most crucial to your brows healing correctly, it is extremely important that you undertake all steps and instructions.
Your hands MUST be clean before coming into contact with your tattoo throughout the entire healing process. Hand washing is a must!
Day 1
Three hours after your appointment you will need to gently clean your brows to remove any excess lymph fluid or blood from the area. This can be done by using a water wipe/baby wipe.
Day 2
Morning and Evening - Using a water wipe/baby wipe, gently clean your brows to remove any excess lymph fluid or blood from the area.
PLEASE NOTE - NO product is to be applied during this period. The brows must only be cleaned with a water wipe/baby wipe.
Day 3 – Day 7
Morning and Evening – First gently clean your brows with a water wipe/baby wipe. Then using clean fingers or a Q-TIP, using only half-a-pea size amount, gently apply the ointment to the brows. Apply the ointment morning and night for the first 7 days.
It is important you understand and undertake the following instructions:
DO NOT go into high exposure sun during the healing process.
DO NOT let brows come into contact with water for long periods of time. (The brows cannot be soaking)
DO NOT use any makeup, creams or exfoliants on the brows for 2 weeks.
DO NOT go into saunas or pools.
DO NOT wax or tweeze the area for 3 weeks.
DO NOT get any massages, facials or skin treatments during the healing process.
DO NOT use any skincare with retinol acids, salicylic or AHA’s for 30 days after the appointment.
DO NOT use laser light therapy, this can lighten, darken and distort the pigment.
DO NOT scratch, pick, wiggle or move the tattoo until it is healed.
DO NOT exercise for the duration of the initial healing process. Exercising will promote sweating which will cause the pigment to push out of the skin, leaving you with a patchy result.
What to expect:
Your tattoo will look dark and start to scab and peel. DO NOT PICK. This is a normal part of the healing process.
After the peeling phase has finished your brows may look a little lighter and will take 7-10 days to fully appear.
To get the best life out of your tattooed brows it is important to incorporate the daily use of SPF starting 4 weeks post-procedure. Sun exposure will cause the tattoo to fade and change colour more rapidly.
After the entire healing process is completed, you can return back to your normal routine.
Long-Term Care: As cosmetic tattoos age, the pigments beneath your skin may alter over time.
The pigments initially implanted into your dermis will break down at different speeds; this is because some molecules are harder for your body to metabolise, and some molecules cannot be metabolised at all. If your body is holding onto certain molecules, it is common to be left with hues of colours, which may require neutralisation. Neutralisation is the process of implanting complementary pigments to attempt to bring the colour back to its original state. This can be done at your yearly/bi-yearly touch up appointments.
